Car Sensor Domestic stock in Japan

Buy from the stock Japan shops for itself

Car Sensor carries what Japanese buyers see, at Japanese prices, in Japanese. Send your advisor a listing and the landed cost for Malaysia comes back itemised.

What Car Sensor is

Japan's domestic listings site, written for buyers in Japan.

Domestic stock, priced for the Japanese market it was listed in.

Car Sensor is where dealers across Japan advertise to Japanese buyers. It started as a printed magazine in 1984 and moved online in 1996, and it is run by Recruit, not by the company behind Goo-net. The stock is domestic rather than export-facing, which is why it runs deeper.

The listings are in Japanese and priced for someone standing in Japan. Nothing on the site is arranged for an importer, and that is the honest reason this page exists: reading the listing, verifying the car and getting it out of the country are the parts we carry.

How buying here works

Three moves. The first two are yours if you want them, and you can hand over at any point.

  1. 01

    You find the car

Browse Car Sensor in your own time. It is written in Japanese, so a browser translation gets you to a shortlist, and your advisor reads the rest properly.

  2. 02

    You price it yourself

Six fields off the listing into our calculator and the landed cost for Malaysia comes back itemised, duty included. Or skip it, and an advisor runs the same numbers for you.

  3. 03

We check it and buy it

Send the link. We read the listing in full, put an independent inspection on the car, quote against it in writing, and only then ask for a deposit.

If you want the number first

Six fields, and you have the number

The calculator asks for things a translation gets right: the maker, the model, the body type, the price in yen and the registration date. The landed cost comes back in about 30 seconds, itemised, with the duty and our service fee already in it.

What you pay to start

10%

of the car price, to proceed with the purchase

Before we buy

A 10% deposit lets your advisor commit to the dealer. Nothing is due while you are still browsing, and nothing is due to see a quotation.

You see the total first

The inspection and the itemised landed cost both come before the deposit is asked for, so you commit against a full number rather than a listing price.

Once the car is yours

The balance follows the shipping and clearance milestones, on a schedule your advisor confirms in writing.

We publish this so you can plan the cash flow. Payments go to Direct Car Import Sdn Bhd only, and your advisor confirms the account with you directly. We never post bank details on this website.

Price it yourself, or ask us

The calculator is public and it does the same arithmetic your advisor does. Six fields off a listing and the landed cost for Malaysia comes back itemised, in about 30 seconds.

None of it is compulsory. If the listing is hard to read, or the fields look like work, an advisor runs the same calculation on any car you send.

  1. 01

    Pick the mode

It opens on Bidding. Take the second tab instead, the one that names One Price, because every car here sells at a fixed price.

  2. 02

    Copy six fields

Maker, model and vehicle type, the price in yen, the registration month and year. All six survive a browser translation intact.

  3. 03

    Read every line

Leave Full Breakdown ticked and sign in with your phone number. The duty, the fees and our service fee come back as separate lines, not one number.

Questions about domestic stock

Straight answers on the language, the price, the inspection and timing.

It is Japan's domestic used-car listings site, run by Recruit. Dealers across Japan advertise their stock on it at a fixed asking price, for buyers in Japan. The marketplace is not ours; we buy from it on your behalf.

Goo-net Exchange is the export-facing site, in English, run by Proto Corporation. Car Sensor is the domestic one, in Japanese, run by Recruit. The domestic listings run deeper and turn over faster, because they are aimed at the buyers who live there. We buy from both.

Yes, and a browser translation is enough to shortlist a car. It is not enough to buy one: the dealer sells in Japan, in Japanese, and expects a Japanese buyer. Reading the listing properly, verifying the car and getting it exported are the parts we carry.

No, and no importer's is. You pay the landed cost, which adds shipping, clearance, duty and our service fee to the listing. You can work that out yourself in the calculator before you contact us, and your advisor confirms it in writing before you commit. It does not change afterwards.

Yes. The import calculator is public, and a Car Sensor listing gives you everything it asks for: maker, model, body type, the price in yen and the registration date. Choose the tab that names One Price rather than Bidding, because these cars sell at a fixed price. Seeing the itemised breakdown needs a phone number and a verification code, which takes a minute and does not involve an advisor.

A deposit of 10% of the car price, once you have seen the itemised quotation and asked us to proceed. The balance follows the shipping and clearance milestones, on a schedule your advisor confirms in writing.

Yes. One-price cars get an independent inspection before we quote, and your advisor reads the listing and its service history with you. If what the inspection finds disagrees with what the listing claims, you hear about it before any money moves.

Most cars reach their owner in 8 to 12 weeks. That covers the purchase and collection in Japan, shipping to Port Klang, customs clearance, duty assessment and registration.

Send us a listing

Your advisor reads it in full and returns the landed cost, usually the same day.

No cost to look, and no deposit until you have seen the quotation.
