Performance stock in the UK
Buy a performance car
from PistonHeads
PistonHeads is where Britain's enthusiast dealers list. Send your advisor a link and the full landed cost for Malaysia comes back itemised.
What PistonHeads is
A British enthusiast forum that grew a classifieds section.
Marque and enthusiast stock, listed alongside the forum it grew out of.
PistonHeads started in 1998 as a forum for people who care about cars, and the classifieds came later, built so members could sell to each other. CarGurus agreed to buy it in 2018 and runs it as its own brand, forum included. Marque and enthusiast dealers list here alongside private sellers.
The stock skews to performance and premium, which changes what matters. A specification difference of one letter can move the value of one of these cars by five figures, and photographs will not tell you which one you are looking at. Reading the car correctly is the part we carry.

How buying here works
Three moves. The first two are yours if you want them, and you can hand over at any point.
-
01
You find the car
Browse PistonHeads at your own pace, in English, at prices that do not move while you think. The forum threads under a model are worth reading before the listings are.
-
02
You price it yourself
Six fields off the listing into our calculator and the landed cost for Malaysia comes back itemised, duty included. Or skip it, and an advisor runs the same numbers for you.
-
03
We check it and buy it
Send the link. MOT history and an HPI report first, then one of ours stands in front of the car and reads the specification against the advert.
If you want the number first
Six fields, and you have the number
Everything the calculator needs is already on the listing. Copy it across and the landed cost for Malaysia comes back in about 30 seconds, itemised, with the duty and our service fee already in it.

Before we buy
A 20% deposit lets your advisor commit to the seller. Nothing is due while you are still browsing, and nothing is due to see a quotation.
If the inspection disappoints
The deposit is refundable if what our inspector finds does not match what the listing claimed. You walk away, and we go back to the shortlist.
Once the car is yours
The balance follows the shipping and clearance milestones, on a schedule your advisor confirms in writing.
We publish this so you can plan the cash flow. Payments go to Direct Car Import Sdn Bhd only, and your advisor confirms the account with you directly. We never post bank details on this website.
Price it yourself, or ask us
The calculator is public and it does the same arithmetic your advisor does. Six fields off a listing and the landed cost for Malaysia comes back itemised, in about 30 seconds.
None of it is compulsory. If the fields look like work, an advisor runs the same calculation on any car you send and comes back with the itemised total.

01
Pick the country
It opens on Japan. Take the United Kingdom tab and the shipping fees, the duty basis and the exchange rate all switch with it.
-
02
Copy six fields
Maker, model and vehicle type, the price in pounds, the registration month and year. Engine size drives the duty, so pick the exact variant.
-
03
Read every line
Leave Full Breakdown ticked and sign in with your phone number. The duty, the fees and our service fee come back as separate lines, not one number.
Free, and a phone number signs you in.

Questions about performance stock
Straight answers on specification, duty, the inspection and timing.
It is a British motoring forum that grew a classifieds section, now owned by CarGurus. Marque dealers and private enthusiasts list performance and premium cars on it at fixed asking prices. The marketplace is not ours; we buy from it on your behalf.
For the depth of a particular kind of stock. Manual variants, limited runs and specification combinations that a mass-market search will not surface tend to turn up here first, because the people selling them chose the audience.
No, and no importer's is. You pay the landed cost, which adds shipping, clearance, duty and our service fee to the listing. You can work that out yourself in the calculator before you contact us, and your advisor confirms it in writing before you commit. It does not change afterwards.
Enough to change which car you buy, which is why the calculator asks for the exact variant. Duty in Malaysia is assessed on engine size as well as value, so a 3.0 and a 4.0 version of the same model land at very different prices. Run both before you choose.
Yes. The import calculator is public, and a PistonHeads listing gives you everything it asks for. Take the United Kingdom tab first, because the fees and the exchange rate switch with it. Seeing the itemised breakdown needs a phone number and a verification code, which takes a minute and does not involve an advisor.
By reading the car, not the advert. Our inspector checks the build against the listing in person, and the MOT history and HPI report cover the test record, the mileage trail, outstanding finance and any write-off marker. If the two disagree, you hear about it before any money moves.
A deposit of 20% of the car price, once you have seen the itemised quotation and asked us to proceed. It is refundable if the inspection does not match what the listing claimed. The balance follows the shipping and clearance milestones.
That depends on sailing schedules and clearance, so your advisor confirms the expected window in writing before you commit. The run covers collection in the UK, RoRo shipping from Southampton to Port Klang, customs clearance, duty assessment, Puspakom and registration.

Send us a listing
Your advisor returns the full landed cost, usually the same day.
No cost to look, and no deposit until you have seen the quotation.
